error: the type or namespace name "ReportingServices" could not be found

description

Hi, I get this error (the type or namespace name "ReportingServices" could not be found) when trying to build the project: SSRS.CustomReportItems.

the error happened in the file: RGraphicsDeviceReportItem.cs. it mentioned namespace "ReportingServices" several times, for example:
var onDemandReportRenderingImage = (ReportingServices.OnDemandReportRendering.Image) generatedReportItem;
I have added assembly "Microsoft.ReportingServices.ProcessingCore.dll" into the References already.

do I need to add other assemblies?

another error:
in the step of "Choose Toolbox Items", after I select SSRS.CustomReportItems.Designer.dll, it pops up an error, says:
There are no components in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\SSRS.CustomReportItems.Designer.dll' that can be placed on the toolbox.

any idea?

same here as yellow_clever:
documentation did not even mention to put that dll in that location, only at the server somewhere.
but even with the dll there it returns an error

sad, because it would be fantastic to use R in SSRS, now I have to look for a solution without SSRS

Hey,

I encounter the exact same issues as yellow_clever and or cdc9999 ...

I have to admit that I'm more familiar with R and Reporting Services than wit Visual Studio (I'm using Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition, almost all the time to do some BI related tasks).

Do you have some hints how to properly avoid the above mentioned issues.

I would be glad to add some extra charting to Reporting Services

Thanks a lot

Tom

Hi,
I also get the "There are no components in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\SSRS.CustomReportItems.Designer.dll' that can be placed on the toolbox" error.
I have followed the manual exactly (3 times on 2 different computers).
But I can't get it to work.
I would really like to get this seeminlgy great Product to work

Hi,

I know it's been a while, but maybe this still helps someone:

in the file: RGraphicsDeviceReportItem.cs, change
ReportingServices.OnDemandReportRendering.Image
to
Microsoft.ReportingServices.OnDemandReportRendering.Image
This made it work for me...
